Brightsea Press, a Lithographic and Digital Printing Company, is committed to playing it’s full part in reducing the effect that it’s printing operations have on the environment for future generations.
We accept that waste is an inevitable by-product from industry, but strongly believe that the correct disposal of our waste material is a major factor in determining the quality and sustainability of our environment.
We are already committed to help the environmental cause by:
- Reducing the amount of waste going to landfill or for incineration.
- Conserving finite resources.
- Promoting environmentally-friendly waste disposal methods.
- Continually evaluating and improving our environmental impact.
Brightsea Press is committed to provide environmentally-sound and operationally-safe waste disposal.
We are committed as a company, to ensure that we prevent any avoidable pollution, reduce our environmental impact and become more energy efficient as well as reducing our carbon footprint. We are committed to adhere to all UK and European environmental legislation.
Brightsea Press is one of the few companies to have achieved FSC® and PEFC Chain of Custody certification. The certification provides 100% assurance that FSC paper used by Brightsea Press is globally certified, originating from well managed forests, and verifies that the raw material used is not mixed with raw material from uncertified forests at any point in the supply chain.
We already ensure that our waste is segregated into paper recycling and general waste. All of our waste paper goes for recycling. All of our chemicals and plates go to a company who specialise in waste control to the printing industry.
Our inks are Soya-Based (Vegetable Inks) and we have reduced our Alcohol content in the printing process by 50%.
We are working with Envision to undertake a full environmental audit of the company to identify any further savings that can be made, and to reduce our carbon footprint.
We are corporate members of DEBI (Devon Environmental Business Initiative) and are also founder members of the Exeter REC (Resource and Efficiency Club). Working with these organisations we will be able to benefit from best practice networking of ideas.
Brightsea Press are keen to advise their customers on eco-friendly solutions to their printing requirements for both Litho and Digital printing. We also recommend methods for efficient substrate use on all printing jobs.
